Diane M. (Nease) Flood

Flood

Diane M. (Nease) Flood passed away at UW Hospital surrounded by her loving family on March 16, 2024. Diane was born to Gerald and Katherine Nease of Rankin, IL / Lake Mills, WI on January 30th,1954 in Danville, IL and was united in marriage to Charles Flood, from Lake Mills on August 7th, 1976 at the First Congregational Church, Lake Mills, WI.

Diane graduated from Lake Mills High School in 1973 and worked as a Beautician, Administrative Assistant and Buyer. Diane was an active member of Salem United Church of Christ in Verona, WI, belonged to many clubs and organizations, held offices on various boards and also volunteered. Diane wished not to have the boards and organizations listed as she did not want any public recognition. Giving back to the community, friends and projects she believed in was what was important to her.

Diane is survived by her loving husband, Charles Flood, of Verona, WI, two wonderful sons and families, Peter (Julie Taylor) of Sun Prairie, WI, and Jacob (Bridget O'Brien) of Howard, WI; four Grandchildren that lit up her life and meant the world to her, Nicholas, Matthew, Alexandra and Skylar; her Aunt Marguerite Swan- Shoufler of Hoopeston, IL; and although not a blood sister, a sister of the heart Sandi Johnson of Verona, WI. She is also survived by two sisters, Kay Hause and Barb (Hap) Daus, and many nieces and nephews. Diane was preceded in death by her parents.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Ma and his great team at the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center. Diane participated in many clinical trials never saying no and marching on no matter how bad she felt in the hopes that someday they will find a cure for Uveal Melanoma. Also, thanks to the many wonderful friends and neighbors for your weekly calls, food, visits and prayers.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at the farm in Lake Mills, WI at a later date, where she loved to spend time and work, never leaving a job uncompleted and keeping her promise to her parents to care for and maintain the farm just like her parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Glacier's Edge Council, the local Scouts BSA council her sons were in as Scouts. Please include a letter/note indicating the enclosed gift is "In Memorial of Diane Flood" (sent to 5846 Manufacturers Dr, Madison, WI 53704).
