Verona’s Pizza Ranch is closed until further notice following a fire on Saturday, April 13 that drew in over 10 local emergency departments to assist in stopping the blaze. 

According to Verona Fire Department (VFD) Chief Daniel Machotka, there are no reported injuries from the incident. Verona received an initial call for the fire at 4:29 p.m, with resulting damage forcing the business to temporarily close. 

Though the cause of the fire is still under investigation, Machotka believes it started outside of the building before entering through the roof system. The coolers and part of the storage space sustained damage. 

In a Facebook post on April 13, Pizza Ranch reported that “everyone is safe.” The restaurant will provide updates as information becomes available.

Area fire departments that assisted Verona on April 13 include Oregon, Fitchburg, Mount Horeb, Belleville, McFarland, Maple Bluff, Waunakee, Dane, Cross Plains, Stoughton, Brooklyn and New Glarus. Fitch-Rona EMS, Belleville EMS and Middleton EMS also responded.
