Egg-Stravaganza

As the warmth of spring envelops Verona, the community is abuzz with anticipation for a festive occasion like no other – the Egg-Stravaganza Spring Festival.

Hosted by the Verona Area Chamber of Commerce, this “egg-citing” event is set to take place from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 30 at Hometown Festival Park, 111 Lincoln St.

This year, families can look forward to a delightful twist on the traditional egg hunt. Rather than queuing up for the hunt to begin, participants will embark on an adventure throughout the park to discover six towering six-foot tall eggs hidden in plain sight.

At each location, eager egg hunters will have the chance to collect an egg of their own at their own pace – while supplies last. Don’t forget to bring your own basket for the ultimate experience.

But the festivities don’t end there. The festival promises a plethora of activities to entertain visitors of all ages. From capturing the perfect photo-op with the chamber’s lovable festival bunny at the Meet the Bunny photobooth area to interacting with adorable creatures at Haven’s Petting Zoo, including bunnies, chicks, lambs, goats, chickens, ducks, geese, alpacas and even a potbellied pig, there’s something for every animal lover to enjoy.

Thrill seekers can test their mettle on the inflatable slide, while those with a keen eye can embark on the Scavenger Hunt for a chance to win prizes by finding the letters of Verona. And what’s a spring festival without a bit of friendly competition? The relay games offer classic activities like the potato sack race, ensuring laughter and cheer for all participants.

For the crafty ones among us, the kids’ tent will be a hub of creativity, with volunteers from the Verona business community leading youngsters through a variety of fun, hands-on spring crafts. And for those craving outdoor excitement, yard games including “egg” bowling, Easter egg basket tossing, a drop game, obstacle courses and plenty of prizes await eager participants.

Hungry festival-goers can indulge their taste buds at Food Truck Alley – which will feature a wide array of treats, along with breakfast and lunch options from savory to sweet – or explore the market with kid-friendly options for shopping.

With so much to see, do and taste, the Verona Area Chamber of Commerce’s Egg-Stravaganza Spring Festival promises an “egg-ceptional” event for the whole family. So, save the date, prepare your baskets and hop on over to Hometown Festival Park for a day of unforgettable fun and excitement.
