Back to school in 1937

Students from the 1937 sixth grade class from the Verona Graded School take a break from class in this undated photo. Do you recognize anyone? Contact the Verona Area Historical Society.

As more and more students head back to the classrooms this spring, here’s a look at the 1937 sixth grade class from the Verona Graded School (the brick building that is now New Century Charter School). Verona Area Historical Society president Jesse Charles said the only name the society has from this photo is Alan Lillesand at the bottom left.

“We don’t know anyone else’s names,” he wrote the Press in an email last week. “I’d love to see if any readers recognize anyone!”
