The Verona girls soccer team lost to Madison West 2-0 in a Big Eight Conference showdown on Thursday, April 18, at Mansfield Stadium.
Verona tied Madison West 1-1 during the regular season last year and the Regents went on to win the conference championship. Verona turned the tables by knocking off the Regents in a sectional semifinal last year.
The Wildcats have beaten the Regents twice since 2011, including a 1-0 win in a sectional semifinal last season. In that stretch, Madison West has knocked off Verona six times and tied nine times.
Verona (1-4, 0-1 Big Eight) has lost three straight games.
