Verona Area School District students return to class

Theresa Taylor, current principal of Glacier Edge Elementary School, has been promoted to Verona Area School District (VASD) Director of Elementary Education.

According to a VASD news release, Taylor’s new role comes after a thorough interview process and will become effective July 1, 2024. The district’s human resources team is beginning the search for a new Glacier Edge principal “immediately.”

Taylor has 18 years of leadership experience serving at Glacier Edge. According to the release, she believes in building strong relationships with students, staff members, administrators and families through effective communication, which includes listening and reflecting. 

Taylor is committed to equity and shared leadership as evidenced by the successful systems she has created and supported that keep students at the center. She values adult learning which leads to exceptional outcomes for all students by using data and research of best practices while collaborating with staff in Professional Learning Communities.

“Ms. Taylor will play a crucial role in advancing collaboration and coherence while ensuring that we effectively support our Verona Area School District educators and students,” the release states. “We know that Ms. Taylor has the experience and skill set to ensure each student will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve their personal goals, thrive in a diverse global society and lead a healthy, self-fulfilling life.”
