Senior Selma Rudolph had a hand in winning three events to help Verona win the La Crosse Central Invitational on Thursday, May 2, on the road.
The Wildcats dominated the field, racking up 134 points to win the 10-team invitational over runner-up Holmen (94).
Rudolph won the long jump with a leap of 16 feet, 10 inches. She teamed with Andrea Wheaton, Tamyia Smith and Skylar Duhr to take first in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 51.04 seconds. In the 800 relay the Wildcats’ team of Lucy Washbusch, Wheaton, Smith and Rudolph won the race with a time of 1:49.44.
Junior Rachel Witthuhn finished first in the discus (1145-10) and Smith won the 200 (27.19).
Verona will compete in the Big Eight Conference meet on Firday at La Follette High School.
