Senior Joie Horsfall had three goals against Eastside April 30 and led the team with six draw controls against Westside May 2.

The Verona girls lacrosse team has gone 4-0 the past two weeks.

Verona 11, DeForest 6

Verona hosted DeForest May 7, and rolled to an 11-6 win on Senior Night.

Verona took an early lead and maintained it throughout the game. Junior Paige Zahler led the Wildcats with five goals. Senior Joie Horsfall, freshman Julia Fechner, freshman Maija McElroy, junior Kiersten Pelletier, junior Mackenzie Schmidt and junior Ashley Vanderbush each added a goal.

Freshman Karina Meyers and sophomore Greta Boehm defended with four ground balls each. Senior goalie Sofia Jeddeloh had 16 saves in the win.

Verona 15, Janesville 3

The Wildcats cruised to a 15-3 road victory over Janesville on May 9.

Verona quickly took the lead with a score of 9-1 at half. Junior Paige Zahler led with six goals and freshman Julia Fechner had four goals.

Pelletier and Khalid added two more each. Senior Joie Horsfall had one goal and led with 10 draw controls.

Pelletier led with seven grounds balls and defender Karina Meyers had four.

Senior Sofia Jeddeloh had 10 saves in the win.

Verona 14, Eastside 2

Verona continued its dominating performances rolling to a 14-2 win over Eastside April 30.

The host Wildcats took an early lead and the defense continued to hold LaFollette to only two goals. Junior Mackenzie Schmidt had a team-high four goals. Senior Joie Horsfall and junior Paige Zahler each added three goals. Junior Kiersten Pelletier added two goals. Freshman Maija McElroy and Fechner each had a goal.

Senior Joie Horsfall led with five draw controls. Jeddeloh had six saves in the win.

Verona 15, Westside 9

McElroy and Zahler each had five goals to power the Wildcats to a 15-9 win over Westside May 2 in Verona.

Horsfall added two goals. Freshman Ellen Morrison, Fechner and Pelletier each had a goal. Senior Joie Horsfall led with six draw controls and Pelletier led with five ground balls.

Jeddeloh had five saves.

The final game before the playoffs will be at Waunakee at 7 p.m. on May 17.
