Woods Road in the Town of Verona didn’t fare well with weather in recent months.
The town will replace an 850-foot portion of the road Wednesday, June 5, starting at County Hwy. PD and moving north, a news release from town public works project manager Chris Barnes said. Weather permitting, the road will be closed beginning June 5 and reopen Saturday, June 8, according to the release.
“The road has suffered severe damage from the winter and spring weather, and been the frustration of many users,” the release said.
The road will be completely pulverized and regraded before being repaved.
Another dozen town roads will undergo wedging and chip seal maintenance starting next Wednesday and lasting until late July. Much of the pavement patching and wedging will take place in the month of June, with July reserved for chip sealing, according to the release.
During road work, construction crews will reduce the roadway to one lane.
Updates on which roads will be worked on will be updated on the front page of the town’s website at town.verona.wi.us.
