The city has ordered TDS to stop drilling on its fiber-optic installation project, which has been going on and off in Verona for several years.
The most recent segment began last fall and has drawn many complaints from residents for “a lack of restoration work,” interim city administrator Adam Sayre told the Common Council at its regular meeting Monday.
Sayre said the work stopped entirely at one point, but city staff, TDS and its contractors worked together to get on the same page about the city’s expectations.
“Some of the restoration work was not to our standards of what we would expect,” he said. “Our position is they need to address those before they can continue to keep drilling elsewhere in the city.”
Any complaints about the project should be directed to the TDS point person, whether they are customers are not. For this project, that is Ryan Birdsall, 664‐0147.
If that can't be resolved, residents can direct concerns to the city public works department at 845-6695.
