Fireman’s Park will have a seemingly busy start to its summer season.

Just one day after it’s scheduled to open, the Wisconsin Triterium Triathlon will take place in and around Fireman’s Park Saturday, June 22.

From 7 a.m. to noon, participants will choose either a shortened “sprint” style race or a longer “Olympic” race, where both routes will have them swimming a lap in the Fireman’s Park Quarry lake.

From there, athletes can choose between a 11- or 22-mile bike ride on the country roads south of the park in the Town of Verona, and transition into a 5K or 10K, with the route taking them on Hwy. M and city streets near the park.
