The Verona Lions Club wants to help curb hunger in the community, and you can help them on Saturday, Feb. 16.

From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., a food drive will be held at Miller and Sons Supermarket to help meet the Lions’ goal of donating 1,000 pounds of goods to the Badger Prairie Needs Network.

Shoppers will be given a list of food and non-food items needed by BPNN, and shoppers are encouraged to donate what they can to the collection boxes located at the store’s exit. Cash donations for BPNN will also be accepted.

The Verona Lions Club is a member of a world-wide organization that has multiple initiatives it encourages clubs to focus on in their communities throughout the year. The food drive for BPNN is a part of their “Relieving Hunger” initiative.
