On Saturday, Feb. 8, children got to meet some of their favorite television and literary characters at the library.

The three characters brought to life from the screen and page were the caterpillar from “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle, Chase, a German Shepherd police officer from Nickelodeon/Nick Jr.’s “PAW Patrol” and a dragon from “Dragons Love Tacos” by Adam Rubin and Daniel Salmieri.

The life-sized character costumes were provided by Madison-based company Making the Heart Smile, LLC. The characters wandered around the library and posed for pictures.

The library offered accompanying activities themed around the three characters including a dragon puppet craft, caterpillar hat craft, patrol badge coloring sheets and make-your-own walking taco bar.
