Molly McCollum pours out samples of La Crosse-based brewer Pearl Street Brewery’s 17 Up Anniversary Gose to Hometown Brewdown attendees on July 14, 2018.

Sampling some “cold ones” next weekend will benefit the chilliest place in Verona.

The annual Hometown Brewdown fundraiser is scheduled for 2-6 p.m. Saturday, July 13, at Hometown U.S.A. Festival Park, 451 E. Verona Ave.

There will be more than 150 different beers from 50 breweries, with the majority hailing from Wisconsin, and a handful representing breweries in Georgia, Minnesota and Colorado.

The fundraiser benefits Ice Inc., which is a nonprofit organization that oversees the management of the Verona Ice Arena and its projects throughout the year.

General admission for the festival is $40, and includes a souvenir glass that should be used to try unlimited samples. VIP admission is $60, and includes an extra hour of sampling with entry allowed at 1 p.m., and a food voucher. For attendees who won’t be drinking alcohol, entry is $10 and includes unlimited water and soda.

No one under the age of 21 will be admitted inside the festival with no exceptions, and expired IDs will not be accepted. Pets are also not allowed on festival grounds.
