Gwynne Rae Johnson, 75, passed away on May 4, 2019 following a short illness.

Gwynne Rae Klapel was born to Loren and Lorraine Klapel on April 11, 1944 in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Gwynne graduated from Loves Park, High School and went on to attend Rockford Business College.

United in marriage on August 15, 1964 to Orville Johnson the couple moved from Rockford, Illinois to Stoughton, Wisconsin where they owned and operated the Coast to Coast Hardware Store from 1974 to 1981.

Although their retirement home is in Montello, Wisconsin Gwynne and Orville were avid campers and toured most of the U.S. and in later years wintered in Casa Grande, Arizona.

Her interests included genealogy with meticulous attention to detail, making beaded jewelry and reading.

Gwynne is survived by; her husband, Orville; children, Lonny (Tonya) Johnson and Kevin (Katie) Johnson; grandchildren, Zabrina, Gabrielle, Garion, Thorin and Raef; her mother, Lorraine Klapel; siblings Gene and Sharon Klapel; sisters‐in‐law June (John) Roos, Joyce (Donald) Johnson‐Begley, Pat (Johnson) Carpenter; brother-in‐law Robert (Chris) Johnson and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Loren Klapel, brother‐in-law, Eugene Johnson, and maternal and paternal grandparents.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 14th at the Stoughton VFW, 200 Veterans Road from 2:00‐5:00 p.m.. An informal visitation will be held from 2:00 ‐3:00 p.m. followed by a service and light lunch.
