...NEAR CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS FOR SOUTHERN WISCONSIN...
Near critical fire weather conditions now largely expected across
southern Wisconsin today due to low relative humidities (~25%),
breezy west winds with gusts from 30-35 mph (will turn northwest
behind the front before decreasing), with warm temperatures in the
upper 60s and good conditions for fuels to burn. There is some
uncertainty on the temperatures and how low dew points get but the
risk for deeper mixing to lead to even drier conditions (RH ~20%)
is there. In addition it appears that the risk for showers has
decreased and we now expect to remain on the drier side through
this afternoon. This has thus led to near critical fire weather
concerns through this afternoon.
