Three months after holding an initial joint meeting, members of the Stoughton Common Council and school board will meet July 20 to continue discussion on common issues.
The two sides met for an initial joint meeting in April, where they talked about the lack of growth in the community, budget and poverty issues at the school district and the city’s comprehensive plan. After that session, members of both boards expressed an interest in continuing the meetings.
While the agenda for the meeting was not yet set by press time, Common Council president Tim Swadley said in an email to the Hub the council would like to include an update on the Comprehensive Plan, which he said might be approved prior to the meeting. He said the meeting would also cover an update on current building projects, discussion/action to recommend the formation of an ad hoc committee, as well as “future agenda ideas.”
