Now in its second year, the Stoughton Community Farmers Market is a non-profit, open air market in the heart of downtown Stoughton. Located at the corner of Forrest and North streets, the market is intended to be a “gathering place that benefits and enriches the community as well as downtown,” said Sylvia Lawrence, whose husband, Stephen is the market manager.
“Our goal is to increase knowledge and understanding of the benefits of local farm products and increase knowledge of sustainable local agriculture and access to nutritious food,” she said.
A different market than the Friday Stoughton Farmer’s Market located on Main Street, all vendors with the Stoughton Community Farmers Market live within 20 miles of Stoughton, and Lawrence said market goods must be produced within a 60-mile radius.
