Hospital fundraiser

The Partners of Stoughton Hospital are hoping to get some support from “clever, crafty or creative” people in the community for its upcoming fundraiser.

The Reuse, Recycle and Repurpose Auction will take place in October, but the group is looking for community members to volunteer to restyle, repurpose and recycle items.

“We’re asking people to find stuff either sitting out on the curb, at a flea market or a garage sale and give it new life or repurpose into something totally different,” said Partners vice president Becky Greiber.

Greiber said the idea came from a fundraiser she was part of a few years ago with rosemaled and painted chairs that “was a really big success.” The idea for the Partners to do something similar sat for awhile, and seeing “all these shows with fixer upper” themes helped bring it to fruition.

Those who want to submit a project are asked to fill out a flyer that details the item, which can be found on the website, as well as a before and after photo, Greiber said. People at the Oct. 16 auction at Lageret will be able to buy their items and take them home that day.
