The Oregon Performing Arts Center will close the high school’s Fine Arts Week with a community concert featuring the University of Wisconsin-Madison a cappella ensemble, Redefined!

The show will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, April 12. Tickets are $8 for students, $12 for adults, with proceeds benefiting fine arts in the Oregon School District and the OHS Music Department. Tickets are available at OregonPerformingArtsCenter.com

Also on Friday, district officials will announce the Spotlight Headliners Series, the new professional concert series produced by the PAC.

For the past 18 years, Redefined! has “raised the standard for college a cappella,” said district performing arts director Nate Mendl, as the group has performed across the Midwest and throughout the Madison area. He said they have “quickly become the favorite of fans internationally and are notorious on the internet for their Nintendo Medley, Pompeii music video and Imagine Dragons Medley.”

“As UW-Madison’s premiere co-ed a cappella group, they perform familiar contemporary popular music with lush flowing harmonies in a truly beautiful and unique style,” Mendl wrote the Observer in an email.

Redefined has released nine studio albums: Redefined (2002), VooBoo (2004), The Sunday Scheme (2008), Drive (2010), Inside Out (2012), Home Brew (2014), For Now (2016) and Unfiltered (2018).
