The village is moving forward with its biggest road project of 2019, reconstructing the intersection where Park Street meets Janesville Street.

Public works director Jeff Rau will begin soliciting engineering proposals for the project, estimated to cost around $800,000. The process involves preparing a “request for proposals,” or RFP, that will detail the work the village wants to see done.

The RFP will then be sent out to contractors and publicly posted, and the village will often accept the lowest bid for the work.

The engineering work is being paid for by borrowing done in 2016.

The village plans to improve underground infrastructure at the same time, including water and sewer work.
