A pair of lots adjacent to the planned Highlands of Netherwood single-family housing development are up for review by the Village of Oregon Planning Commission Thursday.

One, for 23 condominium units to the southeast of the single-family housing, is on the agenda for a conceptual discussion, while the other, for single-family homes on the northwest side, is up for discussion and a recommendation to the Village Board on its preliminary plat, one of the key stages in the development process.

The northwest side lot, “Lot 1,” would add nine single-family residences to the neighborhood that will be sited between West Netherwood Road and County Hwy. CC. According to the developer’s submission, residential lot sizes would range from 5,800 square feet up to 7,100 square feet on the corners.

On the southeast side of the neighborhood, the condominium units would “provide an alternate home ownership opportunity,” according to the plan submission. Each unit would be around 4,200 square feet, two stories and detached from other units.

“While the condominium units are small and relatively close together, special consideration was given to the placement of units to maintain openness and privacy amongst residents,” the submission states. “For this reason, units are placed in a staggered or stepped pattern.”
