May is National Stop the Bleed Month.

To commemorate, a free “Stop the Bleed” training will be conducted from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, May 11 at the Oregon Are Fire/EMS District, 131 Spring St.

Attendees will learn how to stop or constrict bleeding before help arrives at the scene of an emergency.

According to a flyer from the district, over 40,000 people learned bystander bleeding control during the first National Stop the Bleeding Day last year.
