The annual National Night Out event has been postponed.

The nationwide event, meant to honor local law enforcement officers and educate people about safety, is rescheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 6.

The announcement was made on May 7 via the Village of Oregon Police Department’s Facebook page.

“We are looking forward to being able to get together with the community once again, and hope to see you all there. #OregonStrong,” the post states.
