The Friends of the Oregon School District is the recipient of a recent Alliant Energy Foundation community grant.
The Foundation provided OAEF a $2,500 grant for its food pack initiative as part of a set of grants announced earlier this month. Friends of the Oregon School District supports district-sponsored activities.
The food pack initiative supplies breakfast and lunch items to students during the school breaks, Karin Victorson of the Friends of the Oregon School District, wrote in an email to the Observer. The program was first established in 2016.
The Alliant Energy Foundation gave out $123,000 in community grants this year.
“We’re looking for creative solutions that support our customers and communities,” Julie Bauer, executive director of the Alliant Energy Foundation, said in a news release announcing the grants. “Our nonprofit partners are constantly working to make life better. Community Grants are one way we stand behind them as they solve problems for families, education and the environment.”
