Verona Road update

Construction crews began work again on the Verona Road project late last month. Traffic is expected to shift to the east side of the road later this spring as crews work on the west side, including the interchange ramps between Williamsburg Way and County Hwy. PD.

UPDATE: Resurfacing work is planned for Williamsburg Way between Verona Road (US 18/151) and Anton Drive. Noise from backup alarms and equipment is anticipated with this overnight operation from 12 a.m. to 5 a.m. Thursday (June 20). This work is weather dependent and subject to change. We appreciate your continued patience during this project!

Yesterday, construction crews used large pump trucks to pour nearly 600 cubic yards of concrete for the new Williamsburg Way bridge over Verona Road (US 18/151) in Fitchburg. In case you missed it, we recently shared some aerial construction pictures on the Verona Road Project Facebook page. While there, be sure to follow the page for more photos and videos of the construction progress.

Northbound Verona Road traffic is anticipated to shift next week, south of County PD/McKee Road, as crews complete the outside shoulders in this area. Please slow down, be patient and eliminate distractions when driving through the work zone!

As a reminder, the next open house for the project is 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday (June 20) at the Verona Road Project Field Office (6200 Nesbitt Road, Suite B) in Fitchburg. Hope to see you there!

Forward this email to family, friends and co-workers who travel on Verona Road and County PD in Fitchburg, and encourage them to sign up for Verona Road Project email updates!
