A paint night event at Stoner Prairie Elementary School last week raised $1,600 for the school’s “artist in residency” program. Art teacher Tina Johnson wrote in an email that the program will bring professional artists from varying backgrounds to the school to collaborate with students. One of the first projects will be a mural next year in collaboration with Dane Arts Mural Arts, which specializes in working with student and community groups.
