The City of Fitchburg held its annual Memorial Day remembrance on Monday, May 27, at Fire Station No. 2.

The event featured Ald. Janell Rice (Dist. 4) as its guest speaker. Rice spoke on the sacrifices made by people in her family, and in the military as a whole.

The ceremony also included the presentation of a memorial wreath, a gun salute and veterans from the Oregon-Brooklyn VFW 10272 participating in the color guard and presenting flags for each military branch and prisoners of war.
