Christmas party

The entrance to the Mistletoe Forest at Chapel Valley Church’s first annual Christmas in the Park party on Dec. 9 at Huegel-Jamestown Park

Santa isn’t the only one doing things twice this holiday season – Chapel Valley Church is expanding its second-annual Christmas in the Park event to two days this year.

According to an email from Rev. Suzie Gehin, the church plans to give away free fresh trees to people who register to receive them on Dec. 1 and 2.

The church gave away 100 trees last year during its inaugural event.

People can register to receive a tree at chapelvalley.org/christmasinthepark.

The Saturday, Dec. 1, event will be at Nine Springs Golf Course, 2201 Traceway Dr., and the Sunday, Dec. 2, event will be at Huegel Jamestown Park, 5902 Williamsburg Way. The event will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days.

Both Saturday and Sunday will include an opportunity to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, games and refreshments.
